CarolineBishopb&w SMALLI trained in magazine journalism at Cardiff University before moving to London to embark on a career in arts journalism.

I was assistant editor and then acting editor of International Arts Manager magazine, before becoming editor at leading London theatre website,  for which I interviewed numerous acting and directing stars, reviewed shows and edited two print publications and an e-zine about family theatre.

In 2012 I turned freelance, building up commissions for titles including The Guardian, The Independent, The Telegraph, FRANCE magazine, Adventure Travel, Living France, Coast and others. I was also theatre editor for Fest magazine (, during the Edinburgh Festivals and a judge for the 2012 Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award.

After moving to Switzerland in 2013 I began writing for and became editor in 2016. In addition I’ve written for Swiss companies including Media Planet Switzerland and Time Out Switzerland.

I’m also an experienced digital project manager, with clients including the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Society of London Theatre and London & Partners.

I’ll happily tackle any subject thrown at me, but I generally gravitate my writing towards the arts, travel and food.
